The Soccer ref Issue!!!!! The end result
So after the coach filed a formal appeal the answer was no. She keeps the red card. So she missed her game on Saturday. She was not a happy camper. But what can you do. It ended up that later in the game one of our players was hit and had a bloody mouth and then ref made no call. UGH!!! Oh well. So it is over and she is no longer suspended. Hopefully coach got her player pass back, which the ref had taken to mark her actual sanctions. We hope we don't get that ref again. Sterling and his friends went to their game this week and they all said "no freakin way". WOOHOO for them.

Hey Heather, grrr about the ref. I can't believe that was all that was done. So, can any ref just randomly make up what they feel should be red carded? She clearly did not break any rules. Saying, no FREAKIN' WAY. I wonder if pursuing this further wouldn't be better in the long run for future games. How many other players has he red carded in the past and for what reasons? Did he think she said something else? I guess it is too late but I would have went before the commissioner and asked him to explain this and show me in black and white where there is violation and if anything this should not set precedence in future games. What if he just has it out for a player? Do you now have written guidelines, in your posession where you can see when a ref can and should give a red card?
we had to deal with the sports commissioner over a soccer ref. He spoke horribly to the girls and was rude. Other parents took it. My dh, did not and when dh said something about it, the ref carded him and ejected him. NOT!without a fight, in the end the ref was the one who was reprimanded. Many parents came to dh's defense. But, it was an issue and it took awhile to settle. Almost seemed like it wasn't worth the hassle. But, oh the taste of victory is so sweet!
