Christmas 2008

I know we are crazy....but we get so excited about Christmas we usually open presents early. This year was no different...we gave in and opened them Sunday night. The kids loved all their presents and in fact Eli and Savannah have rarely been seen. I posted a video of the goodies they got. Sterling got all of his gifts except his new soccer cleats.....they should have been in last week. Little upset about that...but what do you do? He knows about them and he for a couple hundred dollars in cash as usual for Christmas to keep him busy. I hope you enjoy our little movie, and we hope you all have a very Merry Christmas.

Snow Day....woohoo!!!!

So in talking to my neighbors, as we were all outside with our kids playing in the snow I learned that this is the first snow day where the kids got out of school since 1993. It was so much fun. The kids loved it and although I have pictures of Eli and Sterling....Savannah was no where to be found. She was busy running around with her friends drinking hot cocoa and watching movies to get warm. She was outside most of the day just "walking in the snow, Mom." I am so glad they all had a good day. We did not build a snowman, but I did take a few pictures of ones in the neighborhood. And near the middle of the slide show I have a picture of my neighbor walking up her drive, she is hidden behind trees and the heavy falling snow....see if you can find her. Poor Gabby (our dog) has no idea what that white stuff is and decided she was too good for it and took care of business on the back porch...silly dog. Sterling just stood there on the phone and looking at it fall. We have had the fire going all day which up to this point in 3 years of living here has been turned on all of 4 times I think...and 2 of those was with the air blasting just because I wanted to look at the fire. :) Eli loved it and has been begging to be outside all day....but with his asthma and the way he gets colds so quick we have made him enjoy it from inside. Poor baby....so deprived...he had to play the X-box 360 and the PS2 most of the day. :) We hope y'all are all doing good.

Savannah's Cello Concert

Savannah had her first cello concert this past week. She did great....well the group did great. It is kind of heard to single her out. But in listening to her practice....she did great. Here are a few pictures and a video of the last song they preformed. We are so proud of her.

Savannah Softball

So about 2 weeks ago Savannah called me one afternoon about oh....noon as says "Hey, mom can I play softball at school?" I said I don't care sure. So she says...."Cool, we have practice today, and I need a softball glove at 3, and I need an outfit to practice in." WHAT?????? So off I went to get her a glove and an outfit and I ran it up to the school. Her first game was that Wednesday and she had her 3rd game today. The first game 6 of the girls had not even come to a practice yet and the others had only had one practice together. So we didn't count score for that one. On the second game Runnels won 16-2. woohoo!!!! Today was another game we did not count score on. :) But, Savannah did catch the first out which was a pop-up fly ball. She was on 3rd...then she was moved to 1st and got another out for us and about a dozen runs later we got the last out. We walked......well....a lot. No biggie though the girls are doing a great job learning and working together. She made it to 2nd base on her one at bat. WOOHOO!!! So anyway we have a new sport at our house. It is fun and Savannah seems to like it. Its something I can understand unlike Soccer, so I am really excited to watch her play.

5.I usually take no less then 2 hour baths. Got to love that huge jacuzzi tub with lots of hot water and bubbles.
6. I am obsessed with books. I have well over 400-500. I read all the time and its not unusual to see me with 2 or 3 books going at the same time....one in the car, one in the bedroom, one in the living room, and yes...one in the bathroom. I but books on a daily basis just about.

So I tag....Katie F, Katie B, April Wood, Joy, Carol.

11 years

As crazy as it is.....George and I have been married 11 years as of the 13 of September. We met in an online chat room and started chatting only to soon realize we lived in the same town, then the same area, then the same ward and we knew each other. He asked who I was...since we were talking via screen names and I said Sister Woodson, he said Brother Wilson. I asked which one....there are 3 and they are all married. He was in the middle of a divorce at the time. That was in December we started chatting....then we went out a few times as friends only of course and with the Bishops approval. Then I remember him calling and asking me on our first official date. His divorce was final that day. March 19 1997 we had our first "real" date. It was wonderful and the night we decided to get married. We set a date for June. I began looking for wedding dresses and said..."I can't buy one until I have a ring....Dad's rules." I got my ring in April after we went to see a Titanic exhibit, lunch, and we ended up at an older historic home tour. There was a music box on a shelf and in it set my ring. I was so excited I could not stop crying. This man was going to be my eternal companion. WOOHOO!!!! We went straight to see mom and show her. Then to my grandparents who already knew he was asking since he had talked to them. They were so excited. My grandparents were becoming insta-great grandparents. They loved it. And they always ever treated Sterling and Savannah as their own great-grand kids. We found out we had to wait on a letter from the 1st presidency since George had been married in the Temple before....so we began the wait. And was it a wait. We had several dates set....I think 5 total. Finally the end of August we got our letter. 2 weeks later we were at the St. Louis Temple to be sealed. We did not have everyone we wanted there...we were just tired of waiting to be married. It was wonderful and thus began our life. George could not be more perfect for me. He loves me no matter what and he deals so well with my health problems and supports me always. If he can he stays at the hospital with me whenever I need him. If he can't....he calls often to keep me company over the phone. I love him so much and am so blessed to have him as my eternal companion. He is my best friend, my confident, my lover, my comforter, my joy, my children's father, my protector, and my husband. I love him so much...and it seems to grow more and more every day. He makes sure we all have what we need...and usually what we want. He provides so well for us, he gives us a beautiful home to live in and gives his time to care for and love for all as needed. He is my Hero and for him I will be always grateful. I thank the Lord often for bringing him into my life when he did. I needed him. I love you babe...and thanks for 11 amazing years.

Memories

Katie and Marva added this...my turn.

Do you remember when?

1. Add a comment on my blog, leave a memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you know me a little or a lot, anything you remember! If we're only blogging friends, write about a post that is most memorable.

2. Next, post these instructions on your blog and see how many people have a fun memory of you. It's pretty fun to see the responses.

3. If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all. :)

Photobucket Album
Eli luau punch and banana skewer

WOW!!! Summer's here!!!!

I can't believe summer is here already. The kids have been out of school over a week. We are all doing good. Sterling is busy with soccer already. He has workouts 3 times a week and practice once a week. He has a soccer camp next week and then another one in a few weeks. He got his hair all cut off today. Ill add a picture. Savannah is good too. She is excited about starting a new school in the fall. She will be at a private school. She is a Truman Scholar with a GPA over 3.5. WOOHOO!!!! She and I are headed to Girls camp the second week of June then she is off to her moms in AZ. She is in love with our new dog Gabby. Gabby is a Chiweenie. She was a shelter dog and we went just to go visit the puppies and came home with her. George is in love with her too. She even gets to sleep in our bed on occasion. She lays on his feet. :) Eli is busy with games of course. He had a Luau the last day of school and they had a huge waterslide. I'll add a picture of him sliding down. He gets to be a "special" helper and stay in 1st grade next year. We just felt he needed another year to work on his reading and spelling. They said when he was born a preemie he may have a little trouble and be a little behind. He is fantastic at Math....just needs help with spelling and reading. George is good. He is busy working on a few papers this summer. He has a few out of town meetings to hit this year. And he is presenting a couple of papers at the AAA meeting which is great. I am just hanging out. Not much planned but Camp. This will be my 19th year. WOOHOO!!! I love it! I am doing pretty good health wise. After having everything all checked out at Christmas we are just in a holding pattern seeing what my pacer is going to do. It seems to be good right now and looks like I have another 3-4 years out of it. Lets hope so. We hope u are all doing good and we hope to hear from you all. I'll try to update a little more this summer.

The last few weeks!!!

I really need to add some pictures. Lets see....Sterling finished up his soccer season with a big tournament, Eli went on a field trip to see "Horton Hears a Who" then had a picnic and played at the park across from his school. Savannah finished her soccer season today and got a trophy for being the best Goalie on the team. WOOHOO!!! More big news for Savannah she got into Runnel's private school and finally more big news for her she entered an Art Contest for the Jazz fest and had to draw a poster. They were judged by school and the top 5 went to district....(she won 1st at school) then we found on this week she one district. She got a $25.00 prize and if I am correct they made posters of her posters to give out at Jazz fest. I will have to check on that point though.. As soon as we get it back I will take pictures and post them on here. And the last big thing that happened....we got a new dog. Gabby Wilson is a Chiweenie. She is a chihuahua and a dachshund she is about 2 ish. We got her from the Animal shelter. I will post pics of her too. Hope you are all doing well.

The Soccer ref Issue!!!!! The end result

So after the coach filed a formal appeal the answer was no. She keeps the red card. So she missed her game on Saturday. She was not a happy camper. But what can you do. It ended up that later in the game one of our players was hit and had a bloody mouth and then ref made no call. UGH!!! Oh well. So it is over and she is no longer suspended. Hopefully coach got her player pass back, which the ref had taken to mark her actual sanctions. We hope we don't get that ref again. Sterling and his friends went to their game this week and they all said "no freakin way". WOOHOO for them.

Savannahs Choir Festival

Last thursday Savannah had a choir festival. They sang 3 songs and did a great job. They also had to sight-read a song.(Sing something by sight they have never sung before) The got three 2's and a 3. One is the best. They got a 1 on sight reading. They did a fantastic job. Here is a picture of Savannah in the middle of a song.

"Sweet" Sixteen

OH my!!! So Sterling turned 16 on saturday. He had a soccer game which he won and then decided he would have some friends over. So we ended up with 9 kids over watching the Memphis vs. Tennessee game and playing Rockband. It was so loud. But I think he had a good time. He even had his "girl" over. I can't complain now since he's 16. Nothing offical though...just a friend. :) He has to take drivers ed then he gets my truck. OH well. It was a nice truck. :) haha

ARGH!!!! Soccer refs

So both the kids had games Saturday. They both started at 3. To have them at the same time is so strange...but it was great. So we sat and watched Savannahs first half then we walked over to Sterlings and saw the end of his first half. Their fields were right behind each other...again...very odd. So then Savannahs second half starts and we were headed back that way when we hear Savannah yelling and the ref pull out a red card. For those that dont know a red card means you have to leave not just the game but the field and you have a one game suspension. So we ran over there. Savannah was red carded for saying..."no freakin way" literally. That is what the ref said. She used abusive language. When George asked the ref what Savannah said that was abusive the ref said..."She yelled no freakin way and I am just not going to have that kind of language out here." So now the coach filed a formal appeal since the ref also pulled 2 yellow cards...one on the coach for questioning a call and one because a player was"falling too much" mind you it was a very soggy muddy field. So the drama begins. UGH.....oh well Savannah is co-captain and the starting goalie...oh and until she was pulled the score was 0-0 after she was carded it was 0-3. And Sterling was his game like 5-0. OK...hope you are all doing well.

Sterling will be 16 in a month and can't wait to take over the truck. I get my van back and Dad is getting an older car. Eli turned 7 on New Years eve and had a great night. We had yummy cake and fun huge fireworks. Sterling is playing on his high school soccer team and is doing great. I will add some pictures of Christmas and soccer pictures.
